A stockholder, not a builders' merchant

It is worth knowing the difference, because it changes what you pay and how long you wait. A builders' merchant usually orders your beam in from somewhere else and adds a margin for handling it. A stockholder buys by the tonne, keeps the sections physically in the yard and cuts them on site. That means you are quoted against the real weight of the steel you need, not a marked-up guess, and a standard section is normally cut the same day rather than in ten days' time.

It also means you can ring and ask a straight question — "have you a 203x133x25 in stock?" — and get a straight answer from the person standing beside the racks.

Collection in Lusk or delivery across Dublin

The yard is off the M1 at Lusk, about twenty-five minutes from the M50, so collection is straightforward if you have a van or a trailer. Otherwise we deliver on our own trucks throughout Dublin city and county. For city centre and terraced sites, tell us the offload point and any access limits when you order — narrow lanes and low arches are much easier to plan for in advance than to discover on the morning.

What to have ready when you order

Three things make a quote fast and accurate: the section size (for example 152x89x16 UB), the finished length you want, and whether you need it plain black or sandblasted and primed. If you have the engineer's drawing, send that instead and we will read the sizes off it.
